Our year in review:

January:  Kapono was born January 1, 2012 at 3:03  am.  He weighed 9 lbs 10 oz and was 22 inches long.  It was a great start to the year.  He is such a happy baby.  When he wakes up in the morning he has a big smile and it continues throughout the day.

February: Kalele and Omea love to paint, sometimes more than just paper.

March:  We had a lot of fun when Kuku and Tutu came to visit.  We went to the Aloha festival and enjoyed the festive festivities.
Omea loved this shaved ice!

The Bulky Boy shirt.  That's a XXXXXXXL, or 7 neck roll.
We also thought, "Hey, we're only 5 hours from Disneyland.  Why don't we drive on over?"  So we did!
The girls keep asking to go see the castle again.

Kapono didn't trust his elephant toy for a few minutes.

Omea is a little trouble maker.  I’m afraid she will teach Kapono the trade.  She enjoys getting into things.  Here she is covered in honey.  She was quite proud of herself.  She loved getting into it, but not so much the cleaning up part.  I put her in the tub while I wiped everything up.  It took me a few times to get it all wiped up.  I still found a few sticky spots on the counter a week later.

Kapono was blessed and Kalele turned 4!  She was very excited because she got a bike.

April:  Omea turned 2 and our garden looked pretty good.  We planted grass in the back yard!  I babied it all month long hoping for some lush green during the blistering heat.

I made some strawberry jam and was buying clothes for Kapono about every 2 weeks.  He was growing so fast!

May:  We took a trip up to Idaho and had fun visiting with everyone and watching Kai graduate.  When we got back Jason was called to be the Young Men's president.  He has been busy and enjoying it.  There is a camp out each month, activities every week and Priesthood duties every Sunday.

June:  The girls were amazed when I caught a scorpion by the front door.  I'm pretty sure Omea wanted to keep it as a pet to hold and cuddle it.

We got a piano!  Kalele is learning a little and I also have one student who is doing well.

July:  The grass grew nicely.  I made a black-out curtain for our back sliding door.  And we celebrated the Fourth by eating sugar cookies, swimming in the pool and lighting some sparklers.

The girls love to draw and paint.

Kapono is a couch potato, that's why we call him Spud.

August: The highlight of this month was going to a baseball game!

The kids jumped nearly the whole time.  They loved it.

September:  We mostly stayed inside waiting for the weather to cool down.  The most excitement we had was on the 14th around 11 pm when I drove Jason to the emergency room.  There I watched him writhe in pain for a couple of hours.  Then they took out his gallbladder.

October:  It started to cool down slightly.  It is very different taking the kids trick-or-treating in sandals and shorts versus bundled up and braving blizzards.

November:  The weather finally cooled off.  Kalele and Omea love to help me bake.  The kids and I drove up to Idaho for Thanksgiving.  We missed Jason, since we left him behind to go to work.
Kalele was a Sunbeam last year and had a speaking part in the Primary program.  When I was helping her memorize her part I would tell her how I would probably cry because I would be so happy.  Well, there was a practice a week before the program.  I picked her up and asked how it went and she replied, “We pretended you were sitting on the bench and then I saw you pretend cry.”

December:  We harvested our pumpkins and made pumpkin pie.  I cut Omea's hair short!  Jason took Boards III (and passed).  We made a gingerbread house and went to see the lights on the temple grounds.  Christmas was wonderful.  I was called as Primary Chorister!

At the Mesa temple with our friends.  See how cold it is?  We are actually wearing jackets.

Can't wait for all our adventures this year!  Love you!
