Jason helped Kalele learn to write her name. She loves writing her name and drawing faces that are “happy” and “scary”. She loved playing with all her cousins and talks about them nearly every day. Her imagination has blossomed. I enjoy watching her play. Everything and anything are little people to her; rocks, crayons, carrots and even her hands. She talks and interacts with them. Her words are very interesting. When she laughs and snorts she says, "Oh, I hornked." Octopus is octaputaputapus. Some days there would be 7 or more "putas" in there. She still loves dancing and singing and drawing. We are excited to see what direction she’ll take in the future.
Omea was born April 9th. She has lived in 4 different states in her 10 months of life: Pennsylvania, Idaho, Utah and Arizona. What a little traveler. She laughs at everything, especially Kalele.
As of today she has seven teeth and may be cutting some molars. Jason thinks she’ll be eating steak in a couple of weeks. She’s done well with all the adjustment. I can tell already that she is impatient, but also adventurous and brave. She seems to love her older sister and will crawl after her. Omea is also learning to walk. She also babbles "dada" and "mama" along with "bye-bye". Although I don't think she's quite made the connection in her mind to the meaning of those sounds.
Jason has been all over the states during his fourth year. He did a rotation in Denver, CO, Salt Lake City, UT, Hartford CT, and two rotations in Phoenix, AZ. Jason has been able to stay with family in most of those places. The girls and I even got to go sometimes. We visited him in Denver while he stayed with Uncle JT and Aunt Marie. We really enjoyed staying with them. Then we stayed with Mikki and Paul while he went to SLC. Now we are staying with the Harkers in Mesa while he finishes up here. He also had to go back onto campus in Philadelphia a couple of times. He had interviews in January and ranked the programs last week. We will find out which residency program he matches with mid-March. I am very anxious to know and excited to see where we will spend the next three years.
I (Carol) have been trying to keep everything in order while we jump from place to place. I enjoyed staying with family and having our girls acquainted with their cousins and aunts and uncles. I miss having a church calling and look forward to having a little more stability in life. All in all it’s been another great year and I’m sure this coming year will be even better.
Love,
Jason, Carol, Kalele and Omea
