Jason, Carol, Kalele, Omea, and Kapono

Our family adventures of 2011

Well a lot has happened for us the past year. I believe last Febuary we were in Phoenix, Arizona but here we are one year laterand we are in Phoenix, Arizona.

Carol, Kalele, and Omea under a saguaro cactus in Lost Dutchmen State park. We did a little hike in Febuary.

Kalele and Jason riding a bike at the children's museum of Phoenix

We celebrated Kalele's 3rd B-day and Omea's

First and what fun they had. Omea loved her cake, as you can see.

We went back to Philly in May for my graduation.

We went on some hikes at cress creek in Ririe and we went with Kuku and Tutu to Yellowstone for a fun filled weekend.

We loved spending time with the family at Lagoon
and Kalele always loves to wear here "magoon shirt" as she says it.

We started our move to Arizona and we made some stops on our way.
We stayed with Li and Jen for a night and stopped at Cove Fort and there was a car group there and we got some good pics.

We went to Pinetop, AZ for a Harker Family reunion and had lots of fun.

In Phoenix we enjoyed 4th of July, discovered the monsoon season in the valley and had our firsts of Dust storms, and found out that we were going to have a boy added to our family.

We joined the american dream by becoming home owners and so far the girls have loved having a backyard and Carol has made plans for the yard with grass and a garden. We have a lot of work

October was a busy month in which we went to IF and the girls loved Halloween and trick or treating.

November flew by and then Christmas was at our heels but yet that did not last long. When on the 1st of January we added a new addition to the family.
So I will start with myself since it is my year to write the letter.
It is official that on May 16th 2011 you all have to call me Doctor. It is so wierd who would have thought I would have that title. It still feels odd when people do call me Dr. Kane. Don't worry I am still your know it all son/brother/uncle. I started my residency on July 1st. I enjoy what I am doing and who I am helping. I have great co-residents and attending physicians. I have had the opportunity to do many rotations in the hospital already as well as participate in the care of some sick people and perform several surgeries. If you can figure it out but I did have to perform some DREs while on my internal medicine rotation which was no fun but I guess it comes with the territory. My first month of call was in November. The month seemed to drag on and I don't think Carol liked much of it. I would be in the hospital at 5:30am and be home at about 6:00 pm but at times I would have to go back in during the night. One day I at the hospital for about 20 hours. It was tough but a good experience. December was a much more relaxed month. Well, in September we bought a house which was a humbling adventure. After it was all said and done I relize now how much more I need to scrutinize a home before jumping in. We love it to have a place to call our own for now. Our new ward is great I am the Elder's quorum teacher so I don't have to do much but I do enjoy it greatly. I have had the opportunity to eat at many good restaurants in the area with the help of pharmacy reps, so if you visit I have some good places to go to eat. So come on down and visit us, perferably the winter.

Carol is doing well since having the baby. She was very glad that the last year of school is over. Living as a single mother was no fun for her. She is very grateful for all the hospitality everyone provided to her and our kids. She made a good transition from a mobile lifestyle to a stable stay at home mom with two wild girls and a baby on the way. She loves that we have a home and she is using her hortoculture degree by planning out our blank slate backyard and making an eden for us to enjoy. She had me build some plantars for her garden and will soon be planting some vegies. She is the Relief society activities planner which she just started. She is handling the change of 2 kids to 3 like a champ even though when I come home she smiles and says, "I am so glad you are home can you deal with the girls please." I am happy to help. Also you may call Carol, Lady Carol now since she is a land owner in Scotland. Her cousin decided to sign up on a sight and pay for a plot of land in Scotland. Once you become a land owner you gain a title such as Laird or Lady. So it is official she is Lady Carol, even if her plot of land is 1 ft by 1 ft.

Kalele our little 3 year old is still the lovable and talkative girl. She enjoys sitting down and coloring anything she can get her hands on. She loves the princess art set that kuku and tutu gave her for christmas. It gets used non-stop. She loves dancing and singing when we have music playing. She loved her nusery class at church but loves it even more now that she is a sunbeam. She has some girls that are her best friends even though you ask her and everyone is her best friend. She loves being the older sister and bossing her little sister around and even showing how much bigger she is by giving some love shoves to Omea. She loves helping mommy keep Kapono happy and make him smile. She loves all of you very much.

Omea is our rough and tumble little 1 year old girl. She loves having a ball in her hand and following her sister where ever she goes. She has her own ideas of what should go on in the house. She can shut her hearing on and off like the flip of a switch. She will do what she wants when she wants if she had her way all the time. She is a hand full and the terrible two's have already jumped into high gear. She does not have a soft bone in her body. She will jump on you and pull your hair or give you a slap on the nose when we play/wrestle. She has to find some way to protect herself with her much bigger sister. She goes to nusery in church okay but there are times she does not want to go at all but we get her in there in the end.

Kapono is now 1 month old and he is getting bigger and bigger each day. He was born 9 lbs 10 oz and 22 inches long. It was a good new years because I think the past 2 new years we fell asleep just before midnight. So we got to be up for the new year. Well he is getting bigger each day. On his 1 month chech up he weighed 12 lbs 2 oz. So he has gained about 2.5 lbs in 4 weeks. He is strong and is already trying to keep his head up. He is already in 3month clothes so if you guys still have and any old boy clothes send them to us. We are going to need it. We will be blessing him on March 11th which is the weekend of the Aloha festival. Everyone is invited to come on down.

We love you all very much and hope this next year will be as exciting as last year. My God bless our family and that we may draw closer to each other and to He that put us all in our path as loved ones.

Love Jason, Carol, Kalele, Omea, and Kapono
