The east coast has been great this past year. We have done so much and experienced so much more. We are doing great and loving every minute of our time in Philadelphia. We feel the Lord was the one who called us here and we have had the opportunity to serve and make many friends and meet a lot of new people. As a family the news isn't all that much to report. The new edition will be here in the first of April. We are still surviving the winter of '09-'10 with over 60" inches of snow in the season and still a month to go. It has snowed more this year than it has in the past 3 years here.
As for me(Jason) I am now half way through my 3rd year of school and it has been fun. I passed my part I boards in July with success but after I came out of taking it I felt like I failed. I have been working in the clinic at our school. I have been helping patients with all their ailments and concerns. The most exciting thing I have done is slice open a foot to look for a foreign object and then sew the foot back up. Yet I have put on casts, casted people for custom orthotics and the ever excitement of trimming nails and calluses. With the new year coming I will be all over the place traveling to different residency programs. I will be in Denver, CO, Tacoma, WA, Hartford, CT, and Phoenix, AZ, plus a little bit of time back in Philadelphia, PA. At church right now I do not have a calling but at one point I was 1st counselor in the elders quorum. I was happy to serve and help those around me. I was able to help baptize a gentleman and then later ordain him with the Melchizedek priesthood. It was amazing to see him grow and hopefully we will be able to go with the to the temple to see him and his wife be sealed. They are a great couple. They are both in their 60's and are from Liberia. We had the chance for about a year to spend each Wednesday night in their home and share a family home evening with them. They are a great family. I am excited and can't wait to see you all at some time or other.
Carol is doing great, and she is now 33 weeks along in the pregnancy. Her belly is expanding and her doctor has informed her that she has reached the max weight she is allowed to gain in this pregnancy, oops. Our scale has been on the fritz lately and so we have been able to check out weights. She is keeping herself busy with the many projects she is doing. She finished a sweater for me, Kalele has gotten a few dresses, leg warmers, and hats. She has been on a tear in making so many things. She sews, knits and crochets everything under the sun. It has been great because it keeps her busy and Kalele is always getting something new to where. Her latest project was to make a dress which is called the Patsy outfit. So fitting for Kalele she had to make it. Carol was released from being relief society president back in December and she enjoyed the service she provided in the church. She felt overwhelmed at times but the women loved her and thanked her so much for all that she did, but no rest for the weary she is now visiting teaching coordinator. Good thing she did a lot of leg work for this so it has been an easy transition. Carol will be in Idaho Falls in mid July and will be living with Tutu and Kuku for the next year. She is excited and not for the my fourth and final year. So keep her busy for the months I am not there so she won't have time to miss me.
Kalele or pickle as we call her is growing like a weed. We had to buy another car seat because she already grew out of the one we bought her at 1 year. She is becoming a regular jabber box and can't wait to use her skills with all of you. You can also listen to her singing voice. Her favorite songs are Twinkle, Twinkle, little star, and I am a child of God. Some of you may already have heard our new song Happy Birthday. Her new thing is she loves to watch the Jungle Book. She loves to act and sing along with the movie. When ever she can she asks us if she can watch Mowgli. She is now in nursery during church which is good for us so that we can actually pay attention with out her distractions. She loves being there so much. I have been in there a few times and her favorite time is song time. She sits there and sings and does all the actions to the songs. Plus she is always concerned when ever someone is sad and she will try to console them as much as she can. She can't wait to see you all and have fun with everyone.
Well until next year or if I can I will try to update this blog as much as I can to keep you all informed. With the new baby coming in April we plan on blessing the baby the first Sunday in May. So you are all invited to come on out and see the action. Just remember we will be moving in July. Love you all and see you soon.
Carol, Jason, Kalele, and Baby Girl
